Leaded Glass Windows and French Doors

“Design me a bath fit for a Grecian Goddess!” stated my customer – so I did – as well as four other leaded glass bath panels for this lovely Georgian home.

For my “Grecian Goddess” I custom designed five, five foot by three foot leaded glass window panels and each one had a leaded glass arched transom above it that measured three foot by eighteen inches. We began by designing a border in clear textured stained glass, with three inch mouth-blown Rondells spaced two and one half inches apart, to create a sparkling surround to our main feature. The lower part of the leaded window panel is clear textured glass with one-inch bevels creating a “no viewing zone”. The center of the panel features our handcrafted lead castings. Bellflowers and balls lead upward to a horizontal strip with a leaded glass dogwood blossom and trailing leaves. The top part of window features Restoration Glass through which the clear blue of the sky can be seen. The arched transom topping each window is custom designed leaded glass dogwood blossoms and leaves with jeweled centers in the blossoms, and surrounded by the Rondell border. Three of the leaded glass panel sets look to the outside view. Two of the panels and transoms are mounted over mirrored doors hiding the T.V. and VCR and the towel storage. We placed the two leaded glass panels over mirror, inset in the doors, to complete the set of five surrounding the deep-set marble tub in the center of the room.

To complete our “Bath fit for a Grecian Goddess” we custom designed leaded glass French doors with a similar stained glass dogwood blossom design as the transoms. The French doors lead out to the balcony and a lovely view of the back lawn and pool. For the guest bath, a five-foot diameter circle bath window, we custom designed a latticework with a vine winding sensuously through it. I love offset designs and this was a treat to design and build. All clear textured stained glass creates a “Crystal Elegance” that stands alone in the guest bath. For the “Grecian Goddess” mother-in-law suite we designed a massive, six-foot by four-foot leaded glass panel with a very complex Old English Rose border. The center is a simple rectangle light design and each intersection features a cabochon jewel. Again, Crystal Elegance reigns supreme!
