This Mansion features 23 leaded glass
panels -- 5 French door sets feature 10 foot double doors with a 6 foot by 3 foot transom over each door set.

Descante, just saying the name of this lovely Italian style home takes you to another world, a world of elegance, style, and old world flavor. Every window and door in this lovely custom designed home features our leaded glass panels. The customer wanted a simple design but they wanted more. They wanted the flavor of old world Italy. They wanted pizzazz! So we gave it to them. I designed the leaded glass so the theme would continue throughout the entire house.

In the ten patio French doors and the five transoms, over each set of doors, I used cabochon jewels at every other intersection. The jewels twinkle in the sunlight and cast little spots of sparkle on the walls and floor. The leaded glass door and transom panels are sprinkled with color. Pale blues, pale greens, pale lavender, pale pink and pale gold create a confetti pattern that bathes the hall with a delicate pattern of light and color. Restoration glass was used as the background glass to set the colors against. When standing in the hallway the patio leaded glass door and transom sets lead to the formal patio presentation. Italian stone creates the floor and custom designed ironwork graces the chairs and tables.

The patio leads to a wooded landscape and a small stone cottage hidden in the woods. We carried the confetti pattern of color thru to the windows, but at the intersections we created a small diamond pattern rather that repeat the cabochon jewels. In the library windows this created an Old World look that enhances the books lining the shelves. The kitchen and back entryway doors have a slightly larger diamond pattern at the intersections of the lead came and the confetti colors again grace each door. The continuation of the confetti theme throughout the home brings cohesiveness to the entire home. I love this house; it is one of the most graceful homes I’ve had the privilege to design for. It was fun too!

The glass in the double doors is a combination of clear Restoration and very pale hand rolled colors.  We call them 'confetti doors'.
